There’s a Shark in my House

Duuun Duunn ..

Duunn Dunnn…

Dun dun dun dun dun DUN!

Remote controlled FLYING shark in my house. It’s normal.

I kind of wish we had a remote controlled dinosaur so I could just play the Jaws theme song and the Jurassic Park theme song over and over again. My house would be awesome.

Just a little note: If you’re not a fan of haul-style posts, don’t read on. I like haul-style posts because I get shopping inspiration from them. I understand they can come across as showy, and that’s not my intention.

It’s been a while! And it’s 2012 now, so I figured I’d list some things that I have become attached to (or stayed attached to) for the new year. I’m also excited to start some new projects! I want to go into full-out DIY mode and design/build some stuff, hopefully successfully.

Here’s what I’m loving (mostly from Christmas)… Sweet brewed coffee heavens, I am in love with this machine (although not the first machine I fell in love with, *cough* Mac). I need a place to store all my K-Cups (many of them dark/milk hot chocolate — obsessed), but I also bought a reusable K-Cup to save waste and to be able to make precious Dunkin’ Donuts vanilla coffee, mmm.

My next 2012 love is a perfume… It’s sweet, light and a bit citrus-y. The Express perfume is honestly the best perfume I’ve smelled in a while, and I normally shy away from clothing store perfumes, but maybe that’s a psychological thing since I pass out when I pass by an Abercrombie store.

In other scent-related things… The Scentsy is perfect for me because I am a candle addict. I have to admit that the Bath & Body Works candles smell amazing, but when I burn them for too long, the scent becomes sickly-sweet and causes me to have a headache. I can leave the Scentsy on all day because it’s just a light bulb that warms up the wax and it always smells fresh.

Tech-related love … This is my new iPhone case from Cellairis. It’s from the Elle & Blair collection (they’re beauty gurus on YouTube) and I love it because it’s nautical and reminds me of summer. It fits my 4S perfectly. I needed a new case because — I wasn’t aware of this — but the 4S mute switch is slightly lower than the 4, rendering my other cases ill-fitting #firstworldproblems. This one does the job! And food related … Skinny Cow ice cream will always be my first love, but the Weight Watchers brand has mint chocolate cups and mint chocolate ice cream is my favourite. The ice cream sandwich is chocolate peanut butter and this is my first time trying it. It’s ridiculous.

I tweeted Skinny Cow, since I’m probably one of their number one customers ;) and asked if 2012 could bring a new Skinny Cow cup, preferably mint chocolate brownie. This makes me “eeeeeeee” :D

I’m also addicted to vegetable bowls, covered in pasta sauce and topped with baked chicken breast. I’ll spare you from a picture of it.

And lastly, media wise, I’m loving:

This song: We are Young – Fun

This TV show: The Big Bang Theory. Adam and I just started from season 1 and it’s hilarious!

What are some new things you’re loving for 2012?

More Cheese, Please.

This will just be a quick post, because it’s gorgeous outside and I fully intend on getting out there and enjoying it.

Adam and I went shopping in Michigan today, just to spend some time together and get some groceries. We went to Whole Foods first and I seriously debated buying one of these gigantic squashes. We went to Kroger where Chobani was on sale for $1 each, so I bought new kinds that I haven’t tried before like Lemon and Honey, plus the usuals like Blueberry, Pomegranate, Pineapple and Strawberry.

I also picked up the new Glamour and Cosmopolitan! They’re my reading material for the month (a joyous escape from textbooks). I know it’s kind of bad, but I pretty much have to be reading something when I’m eating. I just enjoy it more for some reason. Does anyone else do this?

We went to Panera Bread for lunch where we both tried out their new Bistro Onion Soup, which, now that I’ve tried it, is just fancy talk for french onion soup with less cheese. It’s kind of sad looking, isn’t it? I decided I’m going to make my own french onion soup, with less sodium and much, much more cheese.

Alright, so nothing particularly interesting happened this Sunday, but I’m about to go for a rollerblade then buckle down to write some articles and finish some homework.

Happy Thanksgiving to my Canadian friends! I won’t really be celebrating it because my grandparents left for Florida for 6 months, so we already had a family dinner, and I missed Adam’s family’s dinner because I was working. Ah, well. I’ll save my leftover turkey sandwich cravings for Christmas time. Unless any of my American friends want to invite me to Thanksgiving? :D I’ll bring these super addicting PB Chocolate Pumpkin brownies!

Sometimes it Gets Boring

I know I can’t afford you, but I want you….. so bad. (Maroon 5 reference)This is the lululemon Audrey jacket. It’s heartbreakingly cute and I want it. It costs $228 and I can’t even justify spending half of that right now. I shall pin this on my Christmas list, and hopefully it’ll still be available by then (probably not </3).

I’ll admit, sometimes it’s boring to talk about what I ate.

Oatmeal… Salmon…Quinoa….Chocolate….Pineapple…

What kind of hair products do you guys use?

I have thin-ish and heavily coloured hair and I have found my 2 staple hair products that make my hair feel ah-mazing.

La Brasiliana Dieci Leave In Hair Treatment - $21-25

Living Proof Full Thickening Cream – $14

Together, these products make my hair feel soft, healthy and full. I’ve tried out a TON of products, and that’s no lie, to make my hair feel fuller and more voluminous. The Living Proof cream does the trick, big time. The Dieci hair treatment smells nice and my hair feels sooooo soft when I use it.

What kind of hair type do you have and have you found your ‘holy grail’ of hair products?

These are some of my favourite recipes. Check ‘em out! :D

Generic Sunday Recap Post Title

What a perfect Sunday!

The weather is gorgeous outside, and the Detroit Lions are continuing their kicking-ass-and-taking-names streak :D I can’t wait to go to a game.

My mom and I headed over the border to do some shopping today and I ended up lucking out with a cute new pair of flats from DSW and a top that I found on sale at Express. I also bought a new Kate Spade iPhone case. And I scored my favourite candles ever from Bath & Body Works on sale 2 for $20. I tried out a couple new scents to add my candle repertoire. The Cinnamon Sugared Donut is just… Oh my god… is just amazing. I would lick this candle if it weren’t for the whole getting wax in my teeth thing.

Eats today were all over the place. We picked up a fruit salad and a slice of spinach + feta pizza from Whole Foods to split, and also had candy from The Sweet Factory (as per usual). As a bad blogger, I did not take any pictures.

When I got home, the dogs were as hyper as ever, so I took them to the grade school around the corner, since Layla has a problem with the dog park now. I ran around with the dogs and we all tired ourselves out. Mission accomplished. I’m off to do some necessary Sunday chores (laundry, cleaning, etc) and then settling in with a movie or something. A glass of wine doesn’t sound too bad either… Might be the perfect thing before having to deal with Monday all over again.

How was your Sunday?
