This ICE CREAM is BAH.NA.NAS.
After seeing an utterly ridiculous infomercial for a product that blends bananas into ice cream called Yonanas (Google it – it’s pathetically hilarious), I was quite flustered. My blender can do the same thing. So WHY have I not tried this yet?!
And I admit, I have been sucked into the infomercial world before. The Magic Bullet totally enticed me (and… don’t tell anyone…but if the full-length infomercial is on tv, I still watch it) and I bought one, but it died within a year. So what did I do? Bought another one! That one died too. Lesson learned.
But oddly enough, I find a strange comfort in watching infomercials late at night if I can’t sleep & they’re the only thing on TV. Am I alone in this? Or do you watch them, without any intention of buying the product?
So I made Dark Chocolate Banana ice cream today. Holyyyyyy Sheets-N-Things.
It was just one of those times when you think, “Where have you been all my life?”
This is so delicious, so good for you, so unprocessed, so sugar free (save for the dark chocolate chips but c’mon). And this is a pretty good size portion!
All I did was blend a frozen banana (it was huge) with 1/2 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk. I added two teaspoons of cacao powder and a pinch of xanthan gum.
I topped it with Hershey’s Special Dark chocolate chips then dug in & fell in love. There are so many ‘ice cream’ flavours floating in my head. Next up is mint chocolate. Then chocolate almond. I’m salivating. Not lady like.
So the only running I did today was to & from my car & Walmart. However, I did buy a speed jumping rope for only $6 and used that for a good amount of time today and it made me realize two things. 1) I’m not that great at jumping rope and 2) jumping rope is a cardio fest! It burns a ton of calories and it gets hard as hell. This is great for when I don’t feel like leaving the house to workout.
So before I leave you all to make dinner (nothing special, just a turkey burger), I’ll present to you my adorable dogs who make my home all their own. The living room contains 2 love seats & 2 chairs, and they rotate sleeping on all of them. They’re cute, so it’s ok. But this was too adorable for words:

I have a Magic Bullet – and still watch the infomercial if its on too! Great post, have a lovely weekend
I am the BIGGEST sucker for infomercials. They make everything look so good. I have a SlapChop, an Ove Glove, a ShamWow, and a Snuggie… I got them all as gifts, but meh, I probably would have bought them anyway.
The Baby Bullet infomercial gets me every time…if I had a baby, I would buy that thing. I might have a baby JUST to buy it
Your smoothie looks amazing. I’m doing it. Maybe tonight.
PS I have finally blogroll’d you. I always forget to update that thing.
The baby bullet is so cute! Lol, all of that stuff gets me. We bought my Dad a ShamWow one time & it didn’t even work like it was supposed to. & I said the same thing about having a baby so I could buy the Juicy line for kids!
You’re on my growing blogroll too!
And thank you for the blogroll addition
I watch infomercials too! I love that my apartment building is usually very quiet, but I need some background noise or i go crazy. So if infomercials are the only thing on, I watch them
I bought the Ninja Master prep in a store, not from the infomercial. But if I hadn’t seen the infomercial I might not have decided to give it a shot. And i did buy Nads from an infomercial once. Did you ever see that one? It was an all natural hair removal wax. The host actually ate it on camera to prove how natural it was *gags* …it didn’t work. LOL. Did you see the 20/20 special “Infomercial Nation”?
Ok, that was so long ago but YES I did order Nads! And I tasted it! It was the worst waxing experience ever though haha. I didn’t see the 20/20 special but something tells me I’d like that so I might watch it on youtube. I mostly just like the infomercials involving some kind of food & crazy hosts, like the GT Express 101! LOL. It’s therapeutic in some ways.
I love my magic bullet but I’m nervous it’s near death. I just can’t help putting more frozen berries in there than it can handle!
